| Beautiful Women! One of my current challenges as a mother is being with my son's increasing "boy" energy - the tackling, climbing, punching and general desire to use his surpisingly strong body. My default is to be controlling, to tell him to be careful, slow down and be more gentle. He really can hurt people, including me and himself! However, Matt is just doing what comes naturally to him - he absolutely loves being physical. The challenge is All the best from your coach, Matt has an enormous amount of energy!

How Will You Be? Take out a piece of paper and jot down your thoughts to the following questions:
Of course, you can't really know how you will be with your baby until you are with your baby! And these questions cover just a few parts of motherhood. But, they do get you thinking about what you might be like in the midst of your new life. Each woman is unique in how she responds to the marvelous and the mundane in motherhood. The point is to know yourself and recognize what you need to be who you want to be. So it is with my challenge in being with my son's intense physical energy. Instead of being controlling, I would like to be more open and playful. But I need help to get there! I ask my husband to remind me to slow down, breathe and give Matt space to be who he is. I write myself reminder notes. And I forgive myself and have patience as I continue to learn how to be Matt's mom. COACH YOURSELF: I want you to pick an area that you think could be one of your challenges as a new mother.
