| Wonderful Women! I'm in the last stretch of holiday preparation. Some of my empowered holiday decisions are to go out to dinner Christmas Eve, to schedule a family beach walk on Christmas Day, to wait on a visit to my in-laws until New Year's and to eat as much of the toffee that my neighbor just dropped off as I want. These might not be empowered decisions for anyone else, As a mom, it's easy to get caught in other people's expectations. Especially around holidays. This week's newsletter is about remembering It's YOUR Holiday. Scroll down to your Coaching Moment to practice being an empowered mother this holiday season. All the best from your coach, Our whole family including my husband Mike, |

| It's YOUR Holiday No matter which ones you celebrate or how you celebrate them, holidays can be a challenge when you are a mother. There are just so many people to please. Your husband or partner, your family, your in-laws, friends AND your children. Everyone has different needs and expectations. I watch a lot of mothers bend over backwards to accommodate everyone ... everyone but themselves. That would be fine, if those mothers were truly peaceful and joyful with the accommodation. But, more often than not they are tired, stressed and a bit resentful. To promote peace and joy, I ask you to remember that this is YOUR holiday too. This is your time to celebrate and connect with what is truly important to you. An empowered mother has many skills at her disposal including knowing what she wants, finding a balance that is right for her, saying no and asking for what she wants. These are the skills I ask you to practice this holiday season. So, take a look at the questions below and jot down your answers - the first answers that pop into your head.
COACH YOURSELF: Take your answers and commit to at least one action that will bring you peace and joy this holiday season. Email me at amy@empoweredmotherhood.com and share your action. And click here to see our newsletter archive. |
