![]() * Joelle Jay & Amy Kovarick, founders of Empowered Motherhood Hello all you beautiful women! I turned 42 this week and got the best birthday present ever. I received the advance copies of my book “Baby on Board! Becoming a Mother Without Losing Yourself.” On the back cover is a picture of me with my son Matthew. Holding the book was one of those great moments in a life. I was able to see all of who I am – mother, coach, author, woman - blend into this one thing. For me, the book is a catalyst for so much of what I want for my life. Connecting to many women. A passive revenue stream. A center point for my company. A lifestyle that keeps me close to my family. Continuing to express myself and live my purpose. Today’s topic is about finding your own catalyst. The last newsletter was about letting go of half of what you are trying to do. This newsletter continues the theme – catalysts are about moving away from trying to do it all to doing what really matters. Scroll down to Your Coaching Moment to find your catalyst. All the best from your coach,

Find your catalyst! At Empowered Motherhood we have a nifty prioritization technique that we use with all of our clients. Whether we are helping a mom prioritize her to-do list for the week or her goals for the next 10 years, we always ask her to identify the catalysts. A catalyst is something that will have real impact. It is the one task, action or goal that will help everything else fall into place. When there is too much to do – the reality for most mothers - you need to stop and figure out what your catalysts are and make that your first priority. When a woman focuses her time, energy and talents on what counts, it is magical. The magic comes from moving forward on what is truly important instead of doing a bunch of things that really don’t make a difference. Catalysts are personal. It’s what will propel YOU forward into fulfillment, balance and satisfaction. Here are a few examples from some of our mothers: “My catalyst is fencing in my front yard. In one shot I create a giant new world of safe play for my little boy. This will completely change his daily life and mine.” “My husband and I are drifting into that type of marriage I swore we would never have. We only tallk about the kids, we watch bad tv after they go to bed and take out our stress on each other. My catalyst is holding a ‘state of the union’ meeting this month so we can get a grip on what we really want for this family.” “My catalyst is remembering who I really am. While I brush my teeth in the morning I read a statement I wrote: ‘I am a determined, insightful woman with a sense of adventure, passion and a love for learning and growth.’ It’s amazing how it has changed the way I approach each day!” Whether your catalyst is big, small, bold or subtle – identify and embrace what will move you into your full potential as a woman and mother. COACH YOURSELF: Think about what you really want for your life. Now ask yourself “what is the one thing that will help create that life if I did or had nothing else?” Don’t over analyze, just write down what pops in your head. Then go ahead and make it your top priority for the next week and see what happens! Email me at amy@empoweredmotherhood.com to share your catalyst.
